Marelbo, a 100% Romanian concept

It all started shyly in 1984 with the first pair of shoes. Since then, the passion has grown, and the craft has known other proportions. 10 years later, the family business flourished, orders came one after another, and the name "Marelbo" was heard for the first time in Vicovu de Sus.

Since 1994, Marelbo has constantly developed, perfected its technique and trained hundreds of people. The year 2000 would mark for Marelbo the opening of the first physical store, with its own products, employees and concept.

Vicovu de Sus, because Marelbo was born there, is a small town located in the north of Suceava County, with approximately 13,000 inhabitants, who are no strangers to this craft. It is like a tradition, passed down from father to son and preserved with holiness. In Bucuvina, things have kept their former brilliance. The people are gentle and patient, the places seem untouched by the passage of time, and the traditional crafts have continued from generation to generation, with the same skill.
If this year you decided to support Romanian tourism, Vicovu de Sus is a landmark in Bucovina. What can be seen here?

Your itinerary should start with the wooden church "Saint Nicholas" in the Buffalo and the Memorial House "Ion Nistor" in the Buffalo - a museum dedicated to Ion Nistor (1876-1962).

You should not miss the "Philip Ghottel" Water Mill - made in 1915, but which still works today. You can also opt for the Obcinele Bucovinei - Obcina Mare hikes with Măgura Mică peak (altitude 837 meters).
Stop a bit at the Ruins of the building of the former buffalo stables from the time of Prince Alexander the Good (1400-1432). You will definitely feel the thrills of the past.
Have a moment of peace and enjoy these areas full of history, enjoy the people, the simple but truly valuable things.

In the vicinity of the locality (15-20 km), it is necessary to stop at the Putna Monastery (1469), so beautifully called "Jerusalem of the Romanian Nation" by the great poet, Mihai Eminescu. Putna Monastery is included in the list of historical monuments in Romania and here is the tomb of Stephen the Great. So, you must!

Don't rush to leave. Not so fast when the offer is so generous. Stop at the wooden church of Putna (1353), the oldest wooden church in Europe and at the Cell of Daniil Sihastrul (dating from the beginning of the 15th century). Also, Sucevita and Bogdana Monasteries are broken pieces of heaven that you must see. Give yourself a few moments. You will realize that in fact, we are richer than I thought.

If we have convinced you to change your holiday plans and arrive in Vicovu de Sus, take a deep breath at the Marelbo factory. You can buy shoes at factory prices and you will feel the good energy of tireless craftsmen who have been making shoes for over 30 years.

The Romanian Marelbo concept is based on a simple structure: products made in Romania, physical stores throughout the country and a site with international circulation.
The entire production line is supplied with quality raw materials from certified sources. At the risk of repeating the information, the entire footwear collection is made at our own factory in Vicovu de Sus by passionate and skilled craftsmen from the area, from the idea stage to the finished product.

From the very beginning, Marelbo has practiced fair prices towards the buyer and continues to do so for you to buy from Romania, made in Romania.
Visit Marelbo.com website and see what a family tradition that has lasted since 1984 looks like.
